We've sailed on nearly all of the major cruise lines and no one does it better than Disney. Is it worth the extra cost? Maybe. If your children are at the age where the magic is important, then definitely give DCL a try. If they're older and no longer care about pixie dust, then maybe save some money and try Royal Caribbean or Norwegian. They all have excellent children and teen programming. That depends on when you booked with the cruise line. In most cases, if you booked less than 30 days ago, we can take over your booking and add value such as onboard credit, specialty dining credits, or more.
We would need to know more about your vacation style to answer that properly. Our pick is Norwegian's Great Stirrup Cay, but Royal Caribbean's CocoCay is a close second.
We like to think of cruise ships by classes instead of specific ships. If you want huge and extravagant, go with an Icon Class ship. If you want large with lots of onboard activities for a good price, Oasis Class is your go-to. If you just want a short weekend getaway and don't care, pick any of the other classes.
This depends on if you prefer convenience, the number of itineraries to pick from, your intended destination, or proximity to where you live. We think Galveston is the go-to for Western Caribbean and Mexico, but its a haul from Houston if you need to fly there. Miami is convenient to the airport, but expect traffic due to construction. Port Canaveral has the itineraries, but IT.IS.NOT.IN.ORLANDO so be prepared to drive.
The big sales are typically during what we call "wave season," which is in the spring and again around Black Friday. The best plan, though, is to find a cruise that fits your needs and book it. Absolutely! Every cruise line allows single cruisers, but some will charge double occupancy. There are ships available that offer studio rooms for single cruisers and don't charge extra. Book a complementary 30-minute consultation with us to go over the options!
The Rhine and Danube are very popular itineraries. As far as which cruise line, we prefer Avalon Waterways. They are reasonably priced when compared to the rest and our experience has always been top notch. We can book with any of them though and most have some sort of returning guest benefit or discount if you have cruised with them before.
In most cases, yes. You will typically get to select from a set of options for each port. Most will be included in your cruise fare, but there are typically also others available for an additional fee.
Other than the obvious water issue, we tend to describe them as opposites of each other. On an ocean cruise, you have lots of activities on board and then get off the ship at a port to relax on the beach. Conversely, on a river cruise, you relax on the ship and then get off at the port to do activities. Think walking historic walking tours, hiking to castle ruins, and biking through a vineyard.
